Q. Do You Provide A Simple Letting Service For Landlords?

We like to keep things very simple.

Basically if a landlord comes to us and says I just want you to find me a tenant then we will make sure we will get that property online on all of the UK’s largest web portals within 24 hours making sure that it is targeting the ideal tenant for that landlord and get a tenancy set up.

Q. What Do McCartan Look For In The ‘Ideal’ Tenant?

It’s about matching the right tenant to the right property. So dependent on the size and the location we know which properties are going to suit the right tenant. We are looking for professional tenants to minimise that risk of rent arrears and the property not being looked after.

So we’ll be busy listening to what the landlords needs are and we’ll be marketing their property to target that.

Q. Do You Match The Tenant, Area And Property?

Yes, absolutely, and going back to making money and it’s a business, there is no point in going for the first thing that comes along just because it’s easy. At the end of the day if it’s not the right person for the property you could have months if not years of hassle and issues for non payment of rent, damages at the end of the tenancy, damages during the tenancy.

So you have to be prepared to turn some people down for the greater benefit.

Q. Do Most Landlords Recognise This Is A Long Term Business?

Exactly, yes. And they’re the type of landlords we’d like to work with. We want to work with the people who understand it’s a business, they need to make investments in their property, so we can achieve higher rental income for them and long term professional low risk tenants.
