Our “New Normal”

Our “New Normal”

The start of 2021 isn’t exactly how we anticipated it to be, and here are again in lockdown!

McCartan is very much open for business; we’re here to help tenants move and landlords let their properties quickly and safety while we can. We can’t wait to see you again in person, but in the meantime, we have worked really hard in 2020 to develop our online processes to keep Swansea tenants moving should another lockdown happen, and we’re still here, putting them to good use!

We are being extra vigilant with our COVID-19 protection measures, especially surrounding property viewings. Minimising face-to-face contact is our absolute priority to keep everyone safe.

Keeping Tenants Moving

I’m really excited to announce we have developed a fully tenant-lead application process. This is from initial enquiry through to collecting the keys to their new home.

Tenants can view the property virtually first (to make sure it’s what they’re looking for) before completing an online application form. From there, they can request to apply for the property or an in-person viewing. Our referencing is all online too, which gives tenants control of their house move.

As a result, this has cut down our viewing conversion rate to application rate to under 1% of viewings per let. I’m really proud that our hard work and efforts in creating this new process has kept our community and our families safe in this pandemic. Don’t be mistaken that we are saving oodles of time; the success of our online application process comes from a lot of time and effort into making quality walk through videos!

The ‘New Normal’ for Lettings

Our virtual doors are still open, and we have never been busier with tenant enquiries. We received over 50 on one property alone over the Christmas break!

If a tenant still needs an in-person viewing, then we continue to follow the Government’s guidance keeping 2 metre rule, wearing facemasks, and preparing the property pre- and post- viewingThere is a clear distinction between tenanted and untenanted properties  – where untenanted properties will be prioritised for viewings.

Landlords can be reassured that our referencing process is still as robust as they should expect from us. Rent Guarantee and Legal Cover Service is still available too (and it has never been more important to have!)

Keeping our tenants, clients, staff – and all of our families – safe in this pandemic is our absolute priority. I am very proud of my team going above and beyond to keep letting Swansea’s landlords’ properties, which is helping tenants move while also keeping everyone as safe as possible.

Landlords need to know their interests are being looked after and that’s what we are providing at McCartan. Want to know more? Why not book in for a consultation call with me to find out how we can help you let your property quickly, and safely – click here to book now!
